McLaren Vale Vintage & Classic Event chairman, Trevor Sharp, presented a cheque for $720 to Cheryl Minniss for the Mason Minniss Fund. This donation was made by the organising committee and represented $1 for every vehicle entered in the 2015 Vintage & Classic event as well as funds raised at the dinner.
The Mason Minniss Fund supports the Palliative Care Service of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and was inspired by the Minniss family. Rob, Cheryl, and son Rohan, set up the fund after the loss of their son Mason. Mason suffered from Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD) and passed away on April 15th 2011 at the age of 10 years and 10 months.
The Minniss family received support and care from the WCH Palliative Care Service. The Mason Minniss Fund raises funds for the WCH Foundation so other families of terminally ill children can access the same care and support.
Trevor Sharp said that the Vintage & Classic Event would continue to support the Mason Minniss Fund through the entry fees paid by event participants and through the activities at the Saturday night dinner.trevordiy.wordpress.com
