The Shiraz Trail
This walking, horse riding and cycling trail is being developed in conjunction with the Coast to Vines Rail Trail, and it is a celebration of the grape that firmly established McLaren Vale’s reputation as a premium grapegrowing and wine making region. It follows the old railway line from McLaren Vale to Willunga, taking in spectacular views of vineyards, the Willunga ranges and the coast.
Vintage and Classic Day
Each April sees several hundred vintage and classic cars parading through McLaren Vale in a spectacular display of motoring history. At the conclusion of the parade the cars head off to local winery cellar doors, usually spending several hours being admired by appreciative winery patrons.
McLaren Vale Regional Awards
These annual awards recognise excellence in business, customer service and the environment within the local area.
McLaren Vale Business Showcase
This annual event provides an opportunity for local businesses to showcase their goods and services to the wider local community. This is particularly effective for those businesses that do not have a “shop-front” presence in the town.
Monthly ‘On The Coast’ Promotions
Through our co-operative link with the newspaper, local businesses can, for minimal cost, promote themselves in this widely-read local publication.
This interactive look at our local history was developed as an initiative of the Business Association. Look for the signs around the town (descriptive brochures are available at the Visitor’s Centre).
Bushing King and Queen Walk
Look down as you walk the streets of McLaren Vale and you will see a physical record of the winemakers nominated by their peers as Bushing King and Queen each November.
